A safe and gentle method of male circumcision

Circumcision is the surgical removal of part or all of the foreskin of the penis. It is performed for medical reasons, for example in cases of a narrowed foreskin (phimosis), as well as for aesthetic or religious reasons.

A narrowed foreskin that cannot be fully retracted over the glans can cause discomfort, pain during sexual intercourse, recurrent inflammation, or difficulties with erections. Circumcision resolves these issues while also making intimate hygiene and care easier.

For many people, circumcision is not only a medical procedure but also an expression of faith and identity. At URO MEDICO, we respect all our clients, regardless of their reasons for choosing circumcision, and provide a discreet, respectful, and professional approach.

How is the procedure performed?

Circumcision is performed as an outpatient procedure in the comfortable environment of our clinic. Before the procedure, you will have an examination and consultation with our specialist, who will assess the condition of your foreskin and discuss with you whether a full or partial circumcision is the most suitable option. During the consultation, we will also perform basic blood tests and check for any allergies or medications that may affect blood clotting.

Traditional circumcision

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia to ensure a painless experience. If necessary, conscious sedation (analgosedation) can also be used, providing short-term relaxation and reducing stress for greater comfort.

The foreskin is removed using a scalpel and the wound is carefully closed with dissolvable sutures. The penis is then covered with a sterile dressing and elastic bandage to help reduce swelling.

The procedure usually takes no longer than 30 minutes, and you can return home on the same day.

Stapler circumcision

A stapler is a modern and very rapid method of foreskin removal. It precisely grasps the foreskin tissue and removes it in a single step. This method is less invasive while being similarly safe compared with traditional circumcision.

The choice of method is always determined by your doctor based on your medical condition and personal preferences.

Before, during, and after the procedure, you will be cared for by specialists with many years of experience in penile surgery and access to modern equipment designed to ensure your maximum safety and comfort.

Preparation before the procedure

  • Wear comfortable clothing on the day of the procedure.
  • Arrange for someone to accompany you home (especially if conscious sedation is used).
  • Your doctor will review any remaining questions with you, and you will sign an informed consent form.

Recovery after circumcision

Mild sensitivity after circumcision is common, particularly due to the dressing. For several days after the procedure, the penis should be redressed daily and treated with the recommended disinfectant or antibiotic ointment.

You should expect approximately 4–6 weeks before returning to normal sexual activity. During this time, you should avoid strenuous physical activity and pay increased attention to hygiene and comfort in the treated area.
